Job Description:
- Acquisition of cargo from customers and shippers in the international market
- issuing and publishing cargo offers on transport exchanges
- Selecting and organizing transportation using third-party carriers and/or in-house transportation
- Negotiating rates and terms with carriers and customers
- issuance of transport orders and control of transport documentation
- overseeing the course of transport and contacting the carrier in real time
- Resolving ongoing operational problems (e.g., delays, breakdowns, lack of autos)
- Monitoring the freight market and building a network of trusted carriers and customers
- Compliance with transportation laws and internal company procedures
Requirements:
- Experience as a freight forwarder or dispatcher in road transportation
- Communicative knowledge of English and/or German [prerequisite].
- Practical knowledge of the market of carriers and customers in international transport
- Familiarity with the operation of TMS (Transport Management System) systems and transport exchanges
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- Independence in action, responsibility and ability to work in a team
- Ability to think analytically and solve problems
